We're a Richmond nonprofit doing practical things.
The Milena Chapter exists to put useful things directly into the hands of people who need them: food, books, coffee, technology, information, and community support.
We're not trying to look like a national charity. We're local, hands-on, and distinctly Richmond. We work at the intersection of literacy, food access, digital access, community resources, waste reduction and reuse, mutual aid, and direct assistance.
Sometimes helping is complicated. We try to make it simple.
The Milena Chapter grew from the community surrounding Abi's Books & Brews in Richmond. The café gives us a physical gathering point, a place to collect resources, and a community of people who continually find ways to help one another.
